How Diversity Enhances Collaboration 08/30/2010
My mind's been on "collaboration" recently. This week’s article, “How Diversity Enhances Collaboration,” may perhaps change how you think about differences you find in your organization. Don't waste the valuable resources you have immediately handy. If collaboration is not something that's comfortable for you, ease into it slowly. I think you'll be favorably impressed with some of the gains you'll experience in just a short period of time. Dennis Add Comment We've talked about the importance of "awareness" before. But what if you keep doing the same thing over and over, because you are not aware of other possibilities? What might be obvious to one person may be totally unknown to another. Until you become aware, you're unaware. This week's article, “How Do We Move Toward a More Collaborative Culture?” may provide some of you with a simple method for engaging friends and colleagues. I hope there will be a few success stories, and that you'll share your satisfaction with me. Dennis More Drama or Less Drama--Which is Better? 08/21/2010
"Drama" is usually a distraction to an organization's current agenda. "Collaboration" is a good way to diminish drama in an organization. However, when articulating a desirable future vision, the more drama a leader can inspire, the better. This week's article, "More Drama or Less Drama--Which is Better?", addresses both collaboration and casting visions. Enjoy! Dennis What Do Your Stories Tell about You? 08/11/2010
People tell you stories---and you listen. You tell stories---and people listen to you. Oh, you probably don't think of what you talk about as "stories." You probably just think of what you say as "routine communication." And that's probably as it should be. But just what are you communicating? That's the point of today's article, “What Do Your Stories Tell about You?” Dennis Disappointment Occurs for All of Us 08/03/2010
Have you mastered handling disappointment? I'm getting better, but it still occurs. And when it does, it seems like it comes at once from several different sources. After a series of frustrations this past week, I tried to imagine the healthiest way I could/should handle such situations. One product of that pause is this week’s article, “Disappointment Occurs for All of Us.” If you have some improvements over what's included in this week's article, I'd be delighted if you'd share your insights.
