James 'Rip' Rainey Jr., MBA
‘Rip” as he has been called by family and friends since he was eight days old, grew up most of his years in the Carolina’s. Excelling in school and sports, Rip was self-motivated and loved a challenge. From his first introduction to addition Rip was "hooked" on numbers. In high school Rip won First Place in the regional Science Fair with a working proof of the theory of gravity and linear acceleration.
Today, James ‘Rip’ Rainey has been a consultant for over 10 years and Professional coaching the last two years. The transition was made from employment as a Nuclear Engineer. So if you think reading a financial statement or motivating employees is difficult, well it is a walk in the park compared to having thousands of lives riding on Mr. Rainey’s engineering calculations. In fact, numerous Rainey designs used to transport radioactive waste are still in use. Mr. Rainey has a B.S. in Engineering and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. He graduated Magna Cum Lade and is a Delta Mu Delta award winner. Mr. Rainey uses his education and real world experience to explain in common sense terms what most people need to know about finance and management and negotiation to excel at their post.
Mr. Rainey uses his strengths in personal communications, client services and creative problem solving to help organizations and people realize their full potential. In most jobs doing things different from one day to the next is not rewarded. But when it comes to competing in a capitalist marketplace a “change agent” is what many need dearest. Although well educated from hard knocks and traditional school Mr. Rainey never believes he knows it all. In fact, Rip thinks just the opposite…there is something to learn from every situation and every individual.
Mr. Rainey has completed many studies and certifications, but the two, which he thinks have shaped his life the most, are “Effective Negotiating” and Valwood’s, “Christian Leadership Coaching Certification”. In addition to these topics, Rip is often asked to speak on maximizing life. In fact, Mr. Rainey was recently nominated to the National Speakers Association for his years of public speaking and training. Mr. Rainey has also instructed at the Wake Technical Community College’s Business and Industry College. Rip is also the author of Truth and Money.
In today’s fast paced life it often takes someone like Rip to come along side and help you move to the next level or bounce back from loss. Helping individuals and teams operate at their optimum levels is what Rip enjoys doing most. This is done through a dynamic and client centric process with proven results.
Rip, his wife Lisa, and sons Tripp and Reid enjoy all that North Carolina has to offer. Rip is a private pilot and avid golfer. Both he and Lisa serve their community and church in various capacities. One of the greatest strengths of Mr. Rainey is his constant pursuit of improvement for himself and for you.
