Do you ever have a down day? Mine are rare, but I've not found a way to eliminate that occasional day when my normal vitality seems to be lost.
Such was this past Monday. I was overwhelmed with despondency. I expressed the unusual sensation this way to a colleague: “I feel defeated, inadequate, and inconsequential.”
Trying to help, my friend suggested that an occasional down day helps us appreciate all the up days we experience. I was in no mood to hear it! I needed to get beyond this trough (down day) and get back to those crests (up days)!
I believe that God allows us to endure difficult times so that we gain perspective that allows us to serve others. I prayed that what I needed to learn would make itself evident.
I was disgusted with my procrastination. I was languishing on some necessary activities. I found an exciting insight, and the result is this week’s article, “Procrastination, Languishing, and Rework.”
I confess, this article is strictly my supposition. If you see things differently, please get back to me and offer your perspective. I don't want to share this interpretation with individuals if it's not going to be helpful to them!
